This is weird, my bike posts have just equaled my swim posts. What's wrong with me? I biked my route in Riverside, from La Sierra up to Central and back. If anyone is a member of www.beginnertriathlete.com, this is where I log all my workouts/bricks/nutrition, and routes. Most of them I made public so if you go to your training log (assuming you're a free member), and click on the route manager (Planet Icon), then search Riverside or San Dimas, you'll see some bike and run routes that I plotted out. Feel free to check them out...let me know what you think. For those of you who've trained in San Dimas with me, in preparation for Bonelli, you're probably not in the mood to even look.
A funny line came from a friend of mine when he was speaking to Mrs. TV after completing his first triathlon at Bonelli, she said something to the affect of "When is the next the two of you are going out to train?" His response was "Whenever I decide to start accepting his calls or emails again?" We've spoken since. But people were thanking me before they even did it, saying that they enjoyed training again (many of them ex-high school athletes). To which I said, "thank me after, if you still feel that way, I'll accept it." All in good fun.
So that was a long aside. What I was saying before the tangent, I've really come to enjoy bike riding. I get such a good workout will little effect on my knees. I've noticed something else though, maybe someone can help. I used to roller blade and got used to my feet being turned out a little. Now that I've been riding in clips, my feet have slowly turned inward. It's starting to hurt my feet and ankles. Not to mention the dreaded duck walk in the mornings.
The circus can teach a bear to ride a bike, I taught a fish. Its just now that the fish's fins are tweaked.

IT's great that you are beginning to enjoy cycling so much. Keep at it!
Others have said it before, but I will say it again - It's all about the bike! :)
Hmmn... not sure about your feet.
Glad to hear you are enjoying the bike more.
Tri-
Keep at it. Over time, your max distance and speed on the bike will go up. Re: foot pain, some of that can be fixed by changing cleat position, shoes etc. Cycling shoes are sized all over the place, depending upon the size and width of your shoe. E.g. SIDIs fit me great, Diadoras don't.
San Dimas - that's a real place? I never knew that, just love Bill and Ted!!!
I'm TRIing to get out on the bike more too - love it but not the saddle ;o) Ref leg/ ankle stuff - could be your ITBands tightening which may change your knees leading to extra torsion on the ankles. Just a thought - a bit of deep massage and good stretching of hammies, glutes and IT may help sort it out!???
Ride well, ride safe!
There's nothing wrong with your biking posts taking over your swimming. I've gone from swim-lover/run-hater to running addict (my love for swimming hasn't changes; my practice of it has just... slowed). So long as you're having a swell time, that's all that matters.
