Happy Father's Day?

It was more of a Happy SON'S Day. This past weekend was...I'm at a loss for words. Hey, there's a first time for everything.

Lets start with Saturday. There was a big birthday bash as my parent's house to commemorate many. It was for My Dad, My Wife, Me and My Sister. Who's birthdays all fall within 3 months of each other. And since finals just finished last week, the weekend was a perfect time to celebrate. My parent put on a terrific spread, hired a caterer and rented casino tables and dealers. There were 2 tables of black jack and 1 table of roulette. Everyone in attendance receive $1500 in play money to start and at the end there were raffles and a grand price for the whale. Then when the sun started setting the real fun began. The food was only half gone, the alcohol came out, the poker table came out, my best man showed up, and a buddy from Jersey was in attendance. No one came out of the closet but not much more could have topped the evening.

Except for the following morning...

After going to bed around 1am, we got up for our ride, and was on the road at 8am. It was just a easy ride from Huntington Beach (AKA Surf City) to Newport and back. 20.02 miles in total and we did it in 1:32:31, which is ~ 12.98 MPH. Like I said, nice and easy. We talked the whole time and had a blast. Not only am I getting some of my body back...but I'm rekindling some old bonds. I love this sport.

A great day followed by an awesome ride :-) I like that about the bike. It is a little more forgiving than the run is, especially when you are hard on your body the night before :-)

Ooooo, that's a big kitty. I would've grabbed it and run to the store for some Zipp wheels. OMG, what has become of me?!!
