It feels good to walk into a full gym and be one of the last one's to leave. I walked in around 10:15pm after class. I told myself I was going to stay on the bike as long as I could take it, of coarse at a steady HR (heart rate). The final count was 25.23 miles in 1:10:03. Thats 21.61 mph. I had it in my head to keep my HR at 160 BPM...which I did. I felt great for the whole session. 45 minutes into it I popped a gel pack (GU Vanilla Bean). Let me just inform you that the thought of digesting something the consistency of jello repulses me. I don't know what it is, I just can't do it. I end up missing out on deserts a lot of the time, but looking back I guess its a good thing. It tasted fine, better than some bars I've tried. Well what do you know, no cramps. I was well hydrated and that gel gave me a shot of energy that actually made me feel better.
I'm at home, I took and nice warm shower and I still feel great. That is officially the longest time I've been on a bike at one time. I'm feeling so good that if the schedule works out, I'm thinking about doing the Ensenada, Rosarito Half Century in April. Yah, its one week after the LA TRI-Express, but I'm not racing it. I just want to do it. I think it'll be fun to do with my dad. We used to camping, just the two of us. Life gets busy and no more "quality time." I miss it sometimes and I think this would be a great opportunity to...hmm...kick his butt at something. He won't let me forget that I forgot to shift in my first TRI (read the Hermosa Beach TRI) and fought all the way up hill. I need to get some actually road time. Maybe in the wash. I need to get used to the headwinds. Oh well, there are a lot of things I need to do. Just another thing to add to the TRI-DO list.

That's a very impressive stint on the bike. I motor along at 15-16.5 on the straight aways here, but these damn hills forces my average back down to 12 mph. So, anyone who does 14+ on the bike, stationary or not is a cycling god in my book :-)
Nice ride!
Sounds like you are the same area as me... I might go by the LA Tri series this year, but I might not compete. I did in 04, but haven't since.
Kudos to you for being at the gym at 10:30-that's committment! It's so nice to have another So Cal blogger to rub our faces in the freakin 2 below cold-thanks for stopping by!
