For those of you who know what this means (and there are only a handful). hahahaha. Anyway back to business. I met up with an old buddy of mine last Sat. to go for a swim at Mt. SAC. I drove from the Inland Empire (a land far far away) to his place (an hour away) to be at the pool by 8:30am. We get there and what do you know, an intercollegiate swim meet! No big pool with like 20 lanes to stretch out in. Turns out that there was a Ballys near by and I was able to get him in on a guest pass. Yet another indoor pool with no natural sunlight. This is going affect my tan (I know...soooo California).
Working out is like sex...you can do it alone, but its much better with a partner.
I am, by no means, an expert in anything triathlon. But I do subscribe to the school that if you know something, then you can relay that message to someone who does not. Sorry if workouts get tedious with all the tips. And that goes out to everyone who has ever worked out with me. But it's in my nature to help people. But yet again, tremendous progress within one workout. Just gearing him up in preparation for the LA TRI Express #1 that is coming up on April 15th! Yay another race. I can't wait. I wanted him to know at least a little of what it is like to not stop at the wall before swimming 200 yards and passing out alongside the lake. He wouldn't even get a chance to kick my butt on the run (which he will, if he gets out of the water, lol).
I'm very excited to announce that so far there two official "YES" to who's attending in April. The newbie honorees are: Adam (old friend stated above) & Rick (my DAD!). No word if they ran into any snags with registration but so far they are IN!!!
Now for honorable (disgusted turning of the back while rolling my eyes) mentions: Wayne (the person who backed out before and got me into triathlon, will be backing out again: I mean, I know it's the same day as his first born's baptism but come on, whats more important), Josh P. (who's been talkn' a lot of trash over the years but conveniently never actually takes me up on anything, big surprise that he's been avoiding me now that T-Day is approaching)
Then there is the limbo category MIA - Missing In Action: These people have not responded to emails containing update info about whats going on who said they will participating: Jason (gets a little leniency because he's out of state in medical school, but not much, just a little) & Marie (who's allowed a little slack because her involvement was hearsay).
