Bike Porn: Papa's Gotta Brand New Bag!

This weekend was versus battle between the old and the new. But how do you turn down a new bike. That's right, you heard....A NEW BIKE. This stud has found a stead.

Let us first look back at what was being used. An old Univega 10 speed. An oldie but goodie:It works, what else could I ask for. Standard peddles and shifting on the tube.

Now for the new pimped out ride:
A Cannondale with Campagnolo everything. Mmmmm campy. What was that? Did you hear that? NO? What you didn't hear was me shifting gears. Its like butter baby. And what are those little things on the crank? Could those be clips? Why YES they are! (LOOKS).

Now for the new hurdles. The new ride has made me aware of how horrible my riding habits are. I also have to get a new saddle. The one that is already on is like sitting on a rock. My delicate tooshy can't take it. Gel people, gel!

This new ride is the reason for long gap in posting. With the Univega I basically just bike outside on race day. Now with the Cannondale I'm compelled to log serious road time. [Note to Wes: I'll still run, but com'on...new bike!). Since I'm at the Sprint level my longest actual ride (not including the Life Cycles at the gym, stupid liars) has been 10 miles at the Hermosa Beach Tri, yesterday I road with my boss (cyclist) 12.5 miles. I could have done more but I have this problem with my foot falling asleep. Its not my shoes, I have plenty of room. My boss says that the cleat is too far forward on my foot (currently at the ball of my foot), he said that I should move it back a little towards my instep. Anyone have suggestions? Please note that I have a long history of poor leg circulation. Since high school, I couldn't sit with my legs cross for more than 3-5 minutes or both my legs will fall asleep. Try getting up and walking with 2 dead legs.

Nothing like a few 15-20 mile rides to boost that circulation! and I just said MORE yellow, I'm not dictating how much, my brother. This is your tri-ology. Enjoy the bike, she looks killer.

Love the new bike. After purchasing "Wynonna" after 10 years without a bike, I understand the excitment. My feet fall asleep because I have low arches, trying pushing down more with the heels when peddling..gives a better stretch. My biggest problem is my hands falling asleep. Have fun!

Congrats on the new bike! Now all you need is professional fitting. Call Gayla at Tri-Zone and get set up. You'll be a lot more comfortable. They're F.I.S.T. tri-bike accredited and very reasonable.

You wouldn't believe the weather here: it has been snowing for four days. There are 22 inches of snow in some areas. I thought about going running this morning, but the snow comes up to my knees. It's just wrong.

I'm glad to hear things are going just swimmingly in your neck of the woods. I'm a little bitter, but glad.

But, seriously, nice ride!
