It seems that the new saddle and comp have driven be to bike more. That and the fact that she still needs a name. I think I'll be taking Wes' suggestion. "ride her a few times, you'll find that she already has a name." Good advise from who I'm now going to refer as the Bike Whisperer. The wife and I sent some time at my parents' place this weekend. For some family time/b-day fun. Mrs. TriVortex got a facial and I went for a morning ride with my Dad and got a Sports Massage afterwards (no special Blowme Blowme massage, not that kind of place). We road from Huntington Beach to Newport and back. Its a round trip of ~20 miles that took 1:28:00 (~13.84 MPH). I'm going to modify previous remarks relating to hills sucking asphalt. WIND sucks too! Actually, anything that isn't perfectly flat and that may impede my bike ride stinks. But SixTwoThree said "Do What Sucks," so I need to find some wicked hills to practice on.
PS. People who did Wildflower, I know you are tired from the drinking, singing, and durrr the course....But get off your butts and lets see those Race Reports. I can't wait any longer.

"Bike Whisperer" ?? Nah, dude! When I hear things like that I'm obviously off my meds...
I just got an email from active.com. It says "Embrace the Hills". To excel, you got to learn to love'em ;-)
Sports massages are sort of like deep tissue massage right? If so, best to wait at least a few hours after work-out for that, or it could end up damaging muscles that are already stressed.
I don't like hills and head wind either. :-)
I suck wind riding hills. But they don't get easier just by staring them. Sigh....
Calling West the Bike Whisperer...that is too funny.
Ooh, cycling: I really need to get on track with that already! It has been so easy to slip into the running-only focus... but the weather is calling.
And once your bike starts calling, I'm really looking forward to hearing its name. My Trek's name is LeBron. That's right. LeBron James has the same bike and rode it during a charity bike race in Cleveland last year. Plus it's good-looking and fast!
Sports massage - like serious OUCH! Last time I had one (few weeks ago) the bloke told me to not do anything for 48hours - but then he did give my legs a right good going over!
As for bike names, mine is pretty dull, it's a Bianchi make so her name's Biancha (well that was easy). Definitely a girl bike given the colour - no not pink...She's silver - makes her go faster!
Oh and happy nearly birthday! :o)
